Introduction
- Safety instructions
This document contains important warnings and safety instructions which must be observed and followed by users. Failure to follow these warnings and safety instructions will put the fault-free operation of the RF Radiator Thermostat at risk. - Intended use
The RF Radiator Thermostat has been designed solely for residential use in private homes and office applications. It is not suitable for industrial use.
The RF Radiator Thermostat is used to control standard radiator valves. The device may only be operated indoors and must be protected from the effects of dampness and dust, as well as solar radiation and sources of radiant heat.
Use of the unit for any purpose other than described in this document or failure to observe the warnings and safety instructions it contains will immediately invalidate any claims in respect of warranty and/or liability.
The same shall apply in the event of any conversion or modifications. The device concerned is not intended for children and may not be used as toy. Do not open the device: it does not contain any components that need to be serviced by the user. - Instruction for disposal
Do not dispose of the device with regular domestic waste. Electronic equipment must be disposed of at local collection points for waste electronic equipment in compliance with local directives governing waste electrical and electronic equipment. - About this document
These operating instructions are intended for end users and describe the operation and menu structure of the RF Radiator Thermostat.
WARNING
Please contact a suitably qualified electrical engineer for all assembly, installation, and configuration requirements, or when you need to remove and dispose of the device.
Faulty installation or configuration can otherwise cause damage of property and persons. - Insert (Replace) the batteries
- Remove the battery pocket cover
- Insert 2 new LR6 batteries (Mignon/AA) into the battery pocket, ensuring they are the right way round
- Reattach the battery pocket cover and click it into place. New alkaline batteries have a life of approximately two years. A battery symbol will indicate when the batteries need to be replaced. After removing the old batteries, please wait approximately 1 minute before inserting the new ones. This device doesn´t support operation with rechargable batteries.
Never recharge standard batteries!!! Doing so will present a risk of explosion.
Do not throw the batteries into a fire.
Do not short-circuit batteries.
Used batteries should not be disposed of with regular domestic waste. Instead, they should be taken to a battery disposal point.
The RF Radiator Thermostat
General function
The RF Radiator Thermostat controls the room temperature. The drive moves a valve, to control the heat flow of the radiator. The RF Radiator Thermostat can be operated stand-alone (stand-alone operation) or in connection with a central device as the Room-Manager (actuator operation).
Display
- Weekday
- Time
- Heating areas
- Valve position (0% closed; 100% open)
- Temperature display
Mode: manual mode (Manu), automatic mode (Auto), holiday mode ( ).
Night or day temperature ( ).
Operation
- If you push the Menu button short you can change the mode (auto, manu …) If you press the Menu button long (>2 sec) you can open the submenus of the RF Radiator Thermostat.
- If the OK button will be pressed short you can visualize the actual set temperature for 2 seconds. In the menu or the sub menu, you can choose menu points and you can acknowledge parameters.
- With the Party button ( )you can start the party mode
- The Wheel is used to change values (temperatures, date, time …) in the sub-menus or in the mode.
Child-proof lock / Operating inhibit
If the Party and Menu button will be pressed at the same time the display and the buttons will be locked or unlocked. After theactivation “LOC” will be visualised on the display.
Mode
With a short press of the menu button, you can change the mode of the device.
- Auto: The room temperature will be controlled depending on the weekly program and the defined day and night temperature.
- Manu: In the “manual mode” the room temperature is controlled independently from the weekly program. The set temperature can be changed via the wheel.
- Holiday: In the “holiday mode” you can define a set temperature which will be used for the control of the room temperature until a defined end date. The weak program has no influence on the control.
Submenu
With a long press of the “Menu button,” you can enter the submenus of the RF Radiator Thermostat. Following submenus are available.
- Pro: in this submenu, you can change the weekly program and the day and night temperature.
Note:
The submenu “Pro” is only in the stand-alone operation available. In the actuator operation, you can set the week program and the temperature levels only at the central device (e.g.Room-Manager). - dAt: here you can change the time and date.
- In5: with this submenu, you can execute the installation drive which is necessary after the first installation therewith the RF Radiator thermostat will be adapted to the radiator valve.
- toF: here you can set an offset temperature.
- rE5: With this submenu, you can load the factory settings in the RF Radiator Thermostat.
Initial start-up in the stand-alone operation
- Enter the submenus with a long press of the “Menu button”
- Set via the submenu dAt the time and date (see also chapter 2.9)
- Execute the installation drive via the submenu In5 therewith the RF Radiator Thermostat is adapted to the radiator valve. The drive will be moved in the initial position. As soon as tA will be displayed you can start the installation drive by pressing the „OK button“.
- Set in the submenu Pro the day and night temperatures and the week program
- Set in the submenu to the offset temperature (see also chapter 2.14)
- Close the submenus with a short press of the “Menu button”
Initial start-up in the actuator operation
- Enter the submenus with a long press of the “Menu button”
