  • The digital room thermostat is used for room temperature control.
  • Any use of the room thermostat outside the above circumstances will be considered as non-compliant and misused.

Transport, packaging and storage

Transport inspection
Upon receipt, check delivery for any damages caused during transit. Any damages must be reported immediately upon receipt.

Storage
The room thermostat must only be stored under the following conditions:
· Do not store in open air, keep dry and free from dust.
· Do not expose to aggressive fluids or heat sources.
· Protect from direct sunlight and mechanical agitation.
· Storage temperature: 0 up to 40°C, max. relative humidity of air: 95 %

Construction and function

Summary / Functional description
The digital room thermostat is used for room temperature control in self-contained rooms. The room temperature is controlled via a valve which is activated through an actuator. When the room temperature has reached the nominal value, the valve will be closed. Setting of the nominal value by key stroke, visualisation on a large LCD display with blue backlighting. The backlighting is active when pressing the keys. Settings can be stored.

Application range
The digital room thermostat can be used in combination with the Oventrop two point actuators (M 30 x 1.5) for individual room temperature control

Installation

Extent of supply
Before installing the room thermostat, please check delivery for completeness and any damages caused during transit.

Switch off current supply
Open casing by pushing back the snap hooks at the lower side with a 3.5 mm screwdriver. Carry out wiring according to the wiring diagram (Illustr. 6.2). Now fix casing with the help of the enclosed screws (Illustr. 6.1) and close it again

The installation location of the room thermostat must comply with the following conditions:

  • The room thermostat must not be exposed to a direct heat source (e.g. sunlight) or cold source.
  • A good air circulation must be guaranteed.
  • The room thermostat must be easily accessible.

Operation

The display shows the current room temperature (RT) at the installation location. The current time and day of the week, the symbol as well as the set operating mode are also displayed.

Switching the thermostat off/on
The thermostat and display are switched off by pressing the key. The thermostat is switched on again by pressing the key once more.

Frost protection mode
To activate the frost protection, switch the thermostat off by pressing the key

Now keep the key M pressed for about 3 seconds. “00“ (inactivated) appears on the display. Now choose “01“ (activated) by pressing the key

The symbol appears if the frost protection mode is activated and the room thermostat is switched off. If the room temperature drops below 5°C, the thermostat is switched on automatically. The room temperature is now increased to 7°C. Having reached this value, the thermostat is switched off again automatically.

Temperature calibration
Temperature calibration must only be carried out if the indicated temperature is not correct. Switch off the room thermostat by using the key. Now press the keys  simultaneously for about 3 seconds. The room temperature which visualises on the display is adapted with the help of the keys The calibration settings are stored by pressing the key

Normal operating mode

  • RT: Thermostat in operating mode; the display indicates “RT“ and the current room temperature.
  • SET: By pressing the key once, the display indicates “SET“ and the set nominal temperature.
  • The nominal temperature can be increased or reduced with the help of the keys
  • This temperature modification is only active until the next programmed temperature.
  • The symbol is displayed during active temperature control and during heating or cooling.

Modification of the operating mode
The operating mode can be chosen by pressing the key for 3 seconds (thermostat is switched on).

  • 01 = Constant operation
  • 02 = Timer On/Off; the display indicates the symbol
  • 03 = Programming; the display indicates the symbol

Setting the time and the day of the week
Press the key. Now set the hours with the help of the keys press to set the minutes. Now press again and set the day of the week.

Setting of the timer
If the operating mode “TIMER ON/OFF“ and the symbol appears, the timer can be switched on and off. Press the key until “TIMER ON“ and “hh“appear. The hours can be set with the help of the keys . If the key is pressed again, the minutes can be set using the keys . Now press the key. “TIMER OFF“ and “hh“are indicated. The hours can be set by pressing the keys . If the key is pressed again, the minutes can be set with the help of the keys . Having defined “TIMER OFF“, settings are completed.

There are two ways to switch off the operating mode:

  • Chose the mode “Constant operation“ or “Programming“
  • Set “TIMER ON/OFF“ to “00:00“ in the switching mode

Setting of the weekly program

  • If the operating mode “Programming“ has been chosen and the symbol appears, the temperature programmes can be set.
  • Setting of the nominal temperature for the days of the week (Mo-Fr) and the weekend (Sa-Su) are autonomous. 4 time intervals per day can be set.
  • Press the key for about 3 seconds. The display now indicates 1 and “Mo. Tu. We. Th. Fr.“
  • The first time interval for the days of the week can now be set.
  • Use the keys to set the required start-up time and confirm it by pressing the key
  • Set the required temperature using the keys confirm it by pressing the key
  • Repeat this procedure for the time intervals 2-4 of the days of the week.
  • Now the settings for the weekend (the display shows “Su. Sa.“) can be carried out the same way.
  • Chose the mode “Constant operating“ or “TIMER ON/OFF” to switch off the operating mode.

Example
Room temperature for the days of the week shall be set as follows.

Temperature sequence: Required setting:

  • 05:30 – 08:00 h 22°C Number 1: 05:30; 22°C
  • 08:00 – 14:00 h 18°C Number 2: 08:00; 18°C
  • 14:00 – 23:00 h 23°C Number 3: 14:00; 23°C
  • 23:00 – 05:30 h 19°C Number 4: 23:00; 19°C

Maintenance

The room thermostat must only be cleaned with mild detergent. Detergents must not penetrate the room thermostat, they must not be sprayed onto the thermostat but onto a cleaning cloth.
