Thermostat for Radiant heating

Programmable thermostat designed for water boiler This thermostat can be used for hot water radiant heating.

QUICK PROGRAMMING GUIDE GARZA 400606 & 400607 digital thermostats

Turning on for the first time: Initial display after inserting batteries or after pressing reset button (5).

  1. Setting time (current)
    • Press button (2): minutes flashing, indicate by using the side arrows (6) and (7) located on the lower right edge of the device.
    • Press button (2): hours flashing, indicate by using the side arrows (6) and (7) located on the lower right edge of the device.
    • Press button (2): days of the week flashing (1 to 7), indicate by using the side arrows (6) and (7) located on the lower right edge of the device. 1=Monday and 7=Sunday.
    • Once the time and day of the week are set, press button R (4).
  2. Defining programming criteria** (configuration of parameters for programming):
    • The letters “CL” appear. In this section, you can select different criteria prior to programming, such as, time slots, maximum and minimum temperatures, type of program, etc. (see table below)
      * To move through the different criteria, press the P button (3) and to modify within the criteria press the buttons (6) and (7). Once finished, press button (4) to record. ** For further information on the criteria for programming, refer to the full manual. *** For further information on the criteria for PSI and PS2 programming, refer to the next page in this manual, 3.1 and 3.2.
  3. Program:
    Once the programming criteria are established, press button (1) and the programming temperature will appear at the upper right edge of the display; now press button (3) and access the programming. To access the different parameters (Time, Temperature, Day of week) press the P button (3) once; once the programming is assigned, record with the R button (4). If you want to return to the menu to establish criteria for programming, press (1) to remove the program mode, i.e. the programming temperature programming disappears from the display and we return to point 2.1 of this manual on quick programming. There is a maximum of three-time slots in PS 2 6 or two-time slots in PS 2 4. You will also see that it is already defined by days of functioning in PS 1 (0. 2. 3. 7).
    • Program Option (Days)
      PS 1 0 – Not programmable
      PS 1 2 – 5 [Mondays (L), Tuesday (2), Wednesday (3), Thursday (4, Friday (5)] + 2 [Saturday (6), Saturday (7)]
      PS 1 3 – 5 [M(1)T (2)W3)T(4),F(5)] + 1 S(6) + 1 S(7)
      PS 1 7 – Monday (1) + Tuesday (2) + Wednesdays (3) + Thursday (4) + Friday (5) + Saturday (6) + Sunday (7)
    • Program Option (Time Slots)
  4. Vacation mode:
    Regarding the program mode, press down and hold the P button (3) and in the part that showed us the time “maintain up to 01 days” will display; we include the days we will be on vacation, pressing button P (3) again to increase the number of days; press (2) to reduce the number of days. Record once indicated with the R button (4).

Button and Functional description

  1. Power on/ anti-freezing /off button; © Time setting button; At starting shortly press (2) button enter setting the minute, press add and subtract key, adjust the minute, press (4) button to confirm and exit; then shortly press (2) button enter setting the date, press add and subtract key, adjust the week, press (4) button to confirm and exit.
  2. Program Setting button; at starting up and program running state (programming mode) shortly press button (3) to enter the program and set the date, then press button (3) to enter the programming time, press button (3) to enter the programming temperature; at starting up and program running state long press button (3) more than 3 seconds enter keeping running mode forever; at shutdown state long press button (3) more than 3 seconds enter implied parameters setting the first item, then press a button (3) enter implied parameters setting the next item.
  3. * Confirm/Exit button; At setting state shortly press button (4) is all setting confirmation and exit forever keeping mode, or at temporarily keeping mode shortly press button (4) to exit and return to program running state; at parameter setting (or program setting), long press button (4) more than 3 seconds parameter setting(or program setting) , return to factory default setting; At power on (anti-freezing mode OFF) long press button (4) more than 3 seconds, launch coding program, when the receiver is under coding state, so code, or keep original code.
  4. Reset button; the date return to Sunday at 0 o’clock, the program is running mode, and all setting is unaltered.

OPERATION

Configuration MENU

The configuration menu allows you to set certain thermostat operating characteristics to your system or personal requirements. Shortly press a button (1) to make sure the thermostat is in anti-freeze mode. Hold button (3) for 3 seconds to enter the configuration menu. The display will show the first item in the configuration menu: Press button (3) to shift to the next menu item. Use to select. To exit the menu, press button (4) to revert to the anti-freeze mode. If no buttons are pressed within 20 seconds, the thermostat will exit the menu. To revert to a factory default setting, in the configuration menu, long push button (4) for 3 seconds. The display will show “DEF” blinking 3 times and return to Menu item configuration 1 indicating all the configuration setting has reverted to the factory default setting. The configuration menu chart summarizes the configuration options. An explanation of each option is as follows:

Intelligent Recovery Option
The thermostat has an intelligent recovery function that brings your room temperature to the set temperature at exactly the pre-set time by turning on the Heating earlier.

Select ON to activate the intelligent recovery function,. In configuration ES mode, the thermostat starts heating 5 days in advance.

Manual Operation

  1. 1) Anti-freezing mode You can press the power button © to activate the anti-freezing mode. The unit only displays OFF, Clock time, Weekday, and Room temperature. The default set temperature for anti-freezing mode is 5°C. During anti-freezing mode, if the room temperature decreases to 5°C, the unit will activate the heating system till the room temperature reaches to 9°C. Pressing the power button © again will terminate the anti-freezing mode and return to the normal operation mode.
  2. Program operation and temporary hold mode Short press © during the running status, and enter the programming surface. you could shift from date setting, time setting, and Temp setting by pressing • one by one, Press ® quit. The thermostat controls the heating system by presetting program. See the Planning your program section in the tables. In normal operation. Press. “temporary hold” is flashing while the thermostat is in temporary hold mode. Press to change the set temperature, The thermostat will override the current programming setting and keep the room temperature at the selected temperature until the next program period begins. Then the thermostat will automatically revert to the program operation. Press quit. If no keys are pressed within 20 seconds, the thermostat will revert to using a schedule.
  3. Permanent hold temperature setting When the thermostat is in program operation, press the hold button to enter the Permanent hold mode. Press +, – to change set temperature. The thermostat will permanently hold the room temperature at the selected setting until you press the button to restart the program operation.
  4. Vacation Temperature holds Long press during the running status, enter the vocation model Press © again to adjust the days you want to hold (from 1 to 99 days), you can use to adjust the temperature during your holiday. To the end of vacation time, it will automatically return to the program running. In vacation mode, Push button ® to revert to program operation.
  5. Reset operation If the display is abnormal, press the Reset button by using a fine probe such as a straightened paper clip to gently push the Rest button. This will reset the thermostat.
  6. alarm function and the matters needing attention
    • The battery power low battery warning sign flickers;
    • Room temperature (built-in temperature sensor) break or short circuit alarm room ERR display;
    • Battery note: products when not in use for a long time, please take off, to prevent battery leakage damage product

CHECK YOUR PROGRAMMING

Follow these steps to check your thermostat programming one final time before beginning the thermostat operation

  1. Press the button © to view the 1st weekday heating period time and temperature. Each time you press button 3, the next heating period time and temperature will be displayed in sequence for weekday, then Saturday and Sunday program periods (you may change any time or temperature during this procedure)
  2. Press button ® to begin the program operation.

CHECK YOUR PROGRAMMING
Follow these steps to check your thermostat programming one final time before beginning thermostat operation.

  1. Press the button • to view the 1st weekday heating period time and temperature. Each time you press button ®, the next heating period time and temperature will be displayed in sequence for weekday, then Saturday and Sunday program periods (you may change any time or temperature during this procedure).
  2. Press button ® to begin the program operation.
