Introduction
Benefits of Programmable Thermostats
A programmable thermostat helps make it easy for you to save by offering four pre-programmed settings to regulate your home's temperature in both summer and winter – when you are home, asleep, or away. The pre-programmed settings that come with programmable thermostats are intended to deliver savings without sacrificing comfort. Depending on your schedule, you can see significant savings by sticking with those settings or adjust them as appropriate for your family. The key is to establish a program that automatically reduces heating and cooling in your home as your required.

- Temperature Format: Selecting between °C and “F.
- Switch Diff: With a set temperature of 20 degrees, as we know, the room temperature is lower than 20 degrees, heating function will be triggered, however, how much lower will trigger the heating is a question, thus we need a parameter to define it, that is switch the differential. When we set it as 0.5, the heating will be triggered at 19.5 degrees, when we set it as 1, the heating will be triggered at 19 degrees, in the above two cases, the heating will both stop when room temperature reaches 20 degrees
- Output Delay: To prevent rapid switching, an output delay can be entered. This can be set from 0-15 minutes. (The default is 00, means no delay) This function helps to prevent system ‘Short-cycling
- Sensor Selection: There are three sensor modes selectable:
- Air temperature sensor
- Floor temperature sensor
- Air temperature sensor and floor temperature sensor
When you select the third sensor mode, that is, “Air temperature and floor temperature”, floor sensor will take charge of sensing and monitoring the temperature beyond the set limit which would do harm to the floor itself or even dangerous to people in the room.
Floor Temp Limit: To trigger this function user have firstly to enable the floor senor, the default value of the floor temperature limit is 28, the user can adjust it to the value from 20 to 45 degrees as per personal needs.
Note: The Air Sensor must not be used for controlling electric underfloor heating . Only floor sensors are available or both (Remote Air& Floor Sensor)should be used.
Optimum Start: MC6 makes use of the rate of change previously figured out to further calculate how far ahead of time the heating function should be triggered in order to maximize the energy conservation as well as be able to make the house warm and comfortable at designated time. For example, if the rate of change is 20, that is to say, it will take 20 minutes to realize the rise of 1 degree. Then MC6 can further figure out how far ahead of time the heating function has to be triggered to make the room comfortable on the premise of energy saving.
Rate of Change: It represents how long it will take to realize the rise of 1 degree.
