Overview

This unique accessory will allow you to copy stored information from a thermostat. Then the information may be loaded into other thermostats, without the need to manually enter each item.
With the EZ Programmer, your options are:

  • Copy all data from a thermostat (time, day of week, time period programming, and advanced setup information).
  • Load just the time and day of week to a thermostat.
  • Load just the time period programming to a thermostat.
  • Load all data to a thermostat (time, day of week, time period programming, and advanced setup information).

The EZ Programmer has a unique location in its memory to store data from each thermostat model that it is compatible with.
The EZ Programmer will automatically recognize the thermostat model that it is connected to and upload the correct data for that model.
The EZ Programmer overwrites only the existing data for the model being downloaded. All other models’ data is untouched.
Examples of how this programmer can be used include:

  • Extract programming data from a thermostat in the shop and upload it to the thermostat(s) in the field.
  • An easy way to make the same program changes on multiple thermostats at the same location.
  • An easy way to change the time on multiple units.

Connection

To release the programmer from the thermostat: press and hold the accessory release button
on the front panel of the thermostat, while pressing the release button, remove the programmer.

Connection – LED codes

After the accessory connector of the programmer is inserted into the accessory jack of a compatible thermostat:

  1. The LED will flash red a number of times based on the model of the thermostat it recognizes.
Reconnect, if the red/green LED does not flash at all. Venstar T2700 Programmable Thermostat Thermostat fig-2
    1. flash = T2700
    2. flashes = T2800
    3. flashes = T2900
    4. flashes = T1700
    5. flashes = T1800
    6. flashes = T1900
  2. The LED will turn green when the programmer is ready to continue.
  3. The LED will turn red during operation and back to green when finished.
Do not remove the Ez Programmer from the thermostat while the LED is red. If the LED is red longer than 3 seconds, remove it from the thermostat as this is an abnormal condition.
In this case let the programmer sit 5 seconds, then reconnect and retry the previous operation.
