Differential
(Only applies on heat pumps with auxiliary heat)
Heat from an auxiliary source is generally more expensive than heat from air exchanger heat pumps. Auxiliary heat is necessary for faster recovery or backup for air heat pumps.
The ‘differential’ jumper sets the temperature difference between when the auxiliary heat shuts off and just the heat pump runs to maintain the target temperature.
In cold climates, the 2 (2F) should be used to maintain a good comfort level.
In warm climates, the 4 (4F) can be used to minimize using aux heat. (More efficient)
C or F display
- Centigrade/ Fahrenheit selection. The C/F jumper is on the back of the thermostat control unit. Separate the control unit from the wall-mounted terminals. When changed, the thermostat must be reset to activate the change.
- When resetting, all custom settings and programming will be erased and only the Energy-Star’” program will remain.
12/24 hour
- The thermostat can display time in 12 or 24-hour formats. The 12/24 jumper is on the back of the thermostat (see illustration).
- When changed, the thermostat must be reset to activate the change.
