Important information before commissioning
- Please read the complete instructions before starting to install the thermostat.
- The thermostat must be installed by a qualified person.
- Only use the thermostat as described in this manual.
- Always disconnect the power supply during installation work.
Safety notes
When handling products which are supplied with electrical voltage, the applicable VDE regulations must be observed, in particular VDE 0100, VDE 0550/0551, VDE 0700, VDE 0711 and VDE 0860.
- Before opening the device, make sure that it is de-energized.
- Tools may only be used on the device if it has been ensured that it is disconnected from the supply voltage and that any residual electrical charges stored in components have been discharged beforehand.
- Live cables or lines to which the device is connected must always be checked for insulation faults or breakages.
- If a fault is detected in the supply line, the device must be taken out of operation immediately until the defective line has been replaced.
- If these instructions is not clearly state for non-commercial end users in regard to, which electrical characteristic values apply to the device, how external wiring is to be carried out, or which external components or accessories may be connected and what connected loads these external components may have, a specialist must always be requested for information. Before commissioning the device, check whether it is suitable for the planned application!
- In case of doubt, it is absolutely necessary to consult experts or the manufacturers of the modules used! Please note that operating and connection errors are beyond our control. We assume no liability for any damage resulting therefrom.
Description Device keys/LEDs
- Shows the current room temperature. When the temperature indicator flashes, the target temperature is displayed.
- Shows the room temperature mode, the thermostat uses the internal temperature sensor (the floor temperature mode with external sensor is not available on this model)
- The battery icon is only displayed when the battery needs to be replaced.
- Shows the current switching status, the symbol appears if the consumer is switched on.
- Connection symbol – no function on this model
- Shows the temperature unit °C (not adjustable)
- LCD display
- On/off switch
- Setting wheel for the desired target temperature
Description housing transmitter/thermostat
To open the transmitter housing, remove the screw at the bottom. Then unhook the upper shell of the housing, mount the wall mounting plate on the wall and insert the batteries in the battery compartment on the back of the transmitter/thermostat.
Description Housing Receiver
To open the receiver housing, the screw on the right must be removed. Then the upper shell of the housing can be unhooked, the wall mounting plate mounted on the wall and the electrical connection carried out.
Commissioning
- Insert batteries in the transmitter/thermostat
- Connect the receiver to the 230V power supply
- Connect the consumer in accordance with the currently valid regulations.
- The device is ready for operation.
Description of the receiver Key and LEDs
The on/off button on the receiver can be used to completely deactivate the consumer (all LEDs not off). In this case the receiver no longer responds to the radio commands of the transmitter/thermostat.
Description Terminals
Radio coupling of transmitter and receiver
The transmitter/thermostat is already paired with the receiver at the factory. If for some reason the devices are still not tuned to each other, the following steps must be carried out to re-couple the devices.
- The distance between transmitter and receiver should be at least 1 metre.
- If the red LED on the receiver is currently lit up, press the receiver’s on/off button briefly to switch it off (no LED should be lit up!).
- Now keep the receiver’s On/Off button pressed until the yellow LED is permanently lit.
- Now set the lower switch (8) of the transmitter/thermostat to ON.
- Carefully pull the setting wheel of the transmitter/thermostat upwards, if necessary lift the setting wheel carefully from the right side using a screwdriver.
- Briefly press the small black button under the dial.
- The display of the transmitter/thermostat switches off briefly and then shows 1. The yellow LED of the receiver lights up 6 times simultaneously and then goes out.
- The units are now coupled. Put the setting wheel back on and switch the receiver on again (red LED lights up).
- To check whether the coupling works, simply turn the setting wheel to the highest temperature. The receiver now switches on and the red and green LEDs light up.
Error messages
- E1 = Check temperature sensor, possibly defective or short circuit
- E2 = Receiver not found, check if out of range, or repeat radio coupling.
- Battery symbol in the display = battery voltage is decreasing, the battery should be changed soon.
