Lux KONO Smart THERMOSTAT 

How to use KONO

KONO’s knob is the main way for you to control your heating and cooling systems. Simply press the knob to open a menu or select an option. Press and hold the knob at any time to exit a menu and return to the home screen. In a menu, rotate the knob to cycle through available options.

Reading KONO’s screen

1. The large number in the top left shows your ambient room temperature.
2. The small number in the bottom right shows your set temperature.
3. The selected system mode (either HEAT, COOL, AUTO, or OFF) is shown to the right of the ambient room temperature.
4. The active fan status is shown by the icon below the ambient room temperature.
   If it is off, your fan is not running. If it is on, your fan is running. Please note that your fan will run depending on your selected fan mode (either AUTO, ON, or IAQ).
5. If you see ON under your system mode, it means that your system is actively heating or cooling your home. It will stay ON until your ambient room temperature meets your set temperature.
6. This icon opens the system mode menu. In this menu, you can set your HVAC system to OFF, HEAT, COOL, or AUTO. Your thermostat will automatically detect which modes are available when you install your thermostat, so you may notsee all three optionsdepending on your system type.
   This icon shows that your HVAC system is preparing to turn on or off. When your system is ready, the icon will disappear and you will see the active system mode on the right side of the screen.
7. This icon opens the fan menu. In this menu, you can set your fan to AUTO, ON, or IAQ. Auto runs your fan when your systemis actively heating or cooling. ON runs your fan continuously. Lastly, IAQ periodically runs your fan to cycle fresh air through your home. If a filter life value has been set in the installation settings, then you can check the remaining life in the fan menu.
8. This icon opens the schedule menu. In this menu, you can choose to run your schedule or hold a constant temperature.
   NOTE: This icon will only be visible if you have connected your thermostat to the network and set a schedule using the LUX app.
9. This icon opens the installation settings menu. In this menu, you can adjust advanced preferences for special applications. Select the gear icon, then after IS appears on the screen, select yes to begin the installation settings flow. For more information about the installation settings, please view the “Installation Settings Guide”.
10. This icon opens the WiFi connection menu. In this menu, you can choose to connect or disconnect to a WiFi network, or temporarily turn-off your WiFi connection. Select “set” to establish a new network connection. Select “off” to temporarily disable the connection. Lastly, select “on” to reconnect to your WiFi network. For more information about connecting to the network, please view KONO’s “Installation Manual”.
    This icon shows that your HVAC system is preparing to turn on or off. When your system is ready, the icon will disappear and you will see the active system mode on the right side of the screen.

Using KONO throughout the year

1. Mild Weather:
   Auto mode is the best setting during the mild seasons or if you live in an area where you need both heating and cooling in the same day. This will automatically control both your heating and cooling systems to keep a consistent temperature. During this season you might also want to consider using the IAQ fan mode, which cycles fresh air through your home using your fan system.
2. Cold Weather:
   Heat mode is the best setting to use when it’s cold out and you won’t need to use your air conditioner. This will make sure that your air conditioner stays idle and that your heater keeps your home’s temperature above your chosen set-temperature.
3. Hot Weather:
   Cool mode is the best setting to use when it’s hot out and you won’t need to use your heating system. This will make sure that your heater stays idle and that your air conditioner keeps your home’s temperature below your chosen set-temperature.

Schedules

1. Setting Schedules:
   Setting schedules is quick and simple with the LUX app – watch our videos on the LUX Products YouTube channel to see for yourself!
   If you want to take a temporary break from your schedule, you can simply pause for a set amount of time. For example, you might have a party during which you’d like the temperature to be a bit warmer than it usually is on your evening schedule. In this case, you set the new temperature and then choose topause for a few hours. You can pause your schedule by changing your temperature from the normal run screen while you are actively running a schedule.
2. Setting Holds:
   If you want to hold a new temperature indefinitely, you can set a hold. This will keep your home at a specific temperature until you tell it to stop. For example, you may want to treat yourselfto a cooler temperature during a heat wave – you can set a hold at a lower temperature and wait for the right time to get back on your schedule.
   To set a hold, enter the main menu and select the calendar icon (you will only see this icon if you have created a schedule usingthe LUX app). Then change your setting from run to hold. When you return to the main run screen, you can either leave your temperature as is or adjust the temperature to a new set point. Your thermostat will then hold this temperature until you tell it to stop. To cancel a hold, press the knob twice to enter the menu. Select the calendar icon, then choose “run” to get back on your schedule.
   NOTE: If you intend to use HomeKit™ automations and scenes, then we recommend that you use a hold and do not run a schedule set in the LUX app
