Read before installing the unit

Selecting Location
Install the thermostat about 5 ft. (1.5m) above the floor in an area with good air circulation at an average temperature.
Do not install the thermostat where it can be affected by:
- Drafts or dead spots behind doors and in corners.
- Hot or cold air from ducts.
- Radiant heat from sun or appliances.
- Concealed pipes and chimneys.
- Unheated (uncooled) areas such as an outside wall behind the thermostat.
Terminal block assembly
The terminal block is inserted in the wall plate at the factory. DO NOT remove the terminal block from the wall plate. If the terminal block is accidentally removed from the wall plate, please follow the next steps. Insert the terminal block into the wall plate slot from the front side until it clicks. Be sure that terminal block screws are on the back side of the wall plate and wire inputs are facing up at the end of the assembly.
Wall plate mounting system installation
CAUTION: ELECTRICAL HAZARD
Can cause electrical shock or equipment damage. Disconnect power before beginning installation.
- Before starting, turn the power off at the breaker box switch. Use the wall plate with the terminal block previously assembled. See “Terminal block assembly” on page 2.
- Identify the 4 wires inside the gang box (Line, Pump, High, and Low).
- Insert wires into the terminal block inputs and tighten screws using a screwdriver (wire color doesn’t indicate terminal designation). See “Terminal block
assembly” on page 2. - Place the wall plate over the gang box holes and be sure the arrow is pointing UP. Insert and tighten the mounting screws supplied in the box. Do not over-tighten. Tighten until the wall plate no longer moves.
Thermostat mounting
- Push excess wire back into the wall opening.
- Align the wall plate with the thermostat, and push gently until the thermostat snaps in place.
- Turn the power on at the breaker box or switch.
Set the time and day
- Press or choose between 12 or 24 hours. Press Select.
- Use or adjust the Hour. Press Select.
- Use or adjust the Minutes. Press Select.
- Use or choose the Day. Press Select to save and exit the Time menu.
System test
- Wait 5 minutes to allow the thermostat to sense the room temperature correctly (after this time a change in the temp displayed could occur).
- Press the Mode button until “Manual” flashes on the left side. Press Select.
- “Pump Only” flashes on the right side. Press Select and verify that the water pump is working.
- Press the Fan button to go to High Cool mode and verify that the water pump and motor’s high speed are working.
- Press the Fan button to go to Low Cool mode and verify that the water pump and motor’s low speed are working.
- Press the Fan button to go to High Vent mode and verify that the motor’s high speed is working and the water pump is OFF.
- Press the Fan button to go to Low Vent mode and verify that the motor’s low speed is working and the water pump is OFF.
- Press the Mode button 4 times until OFF is flashing on the left side, then press Select. If the unit is not working correctly, verify there are no loose connections or wires in the wrong terminal of the block.
Installer setup (ISU)
- Press and hold the CENTER and buttons for approximately 3 seconds to enter the advanced menu.
- Press Select to enter ISU.
- Press Select to cycle through menu setup options.
- Press or to change values or select from available options.
- Press Select and confirm your settings or press Back to ignore changes and return to the ISU menu screen to continue editing another setup option.
- To finish the setup process and save your setting, press Home and return to the Home screen.

Note: The thermostat will follow an auto-calibration process the first time Low Cool runs for 3 consecutive hours and High Cool runs for 3 consecutive hours during normal operation. Low Cool and High Cool could run at different days or with an OFF period between. If booth speeds run consecutively Low Cool must be first.
Note: If the swamp cooler system is replaced it is highly recommended to reset the thermostat to factory default values to perform a new auto-calibration the process as follows:
- Press and hold the CENTER and buttons for approximately 3 seconds to enter the advanced menu.
- Press 2 times to go to the Reset Defaults option, and press select.
- Allow the thermostat to run the auto-calibration process as previously indicated.
